During your stay in Ouarzazate, Cap Dunes invites you to take part in our excursions and discover the moroccan desert and the its berber villages.

Below, some of our excursions that you can do from Ouarzazate :

OUARZAZATE SIGHTSEEING in a half-day : Visit the city of Ouarzazate and one of its best kasbahs called Taourirt ( beautiful architecture and decorations). This excursion can be done in half-day time.

KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU in a half-day : Half-day to the most famous kasbah in Morocco, Ait ben Haddou, a 'fortified city'.. It is situated along the Ouarzazate river and has some beautiful examples of kasbahs, which unfortunately get damaged each rainstorm. Most of the town's inhabitants now live in a more modern village at the other side of the river; ten families however still live within the ksar. Aït Benhaddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987[1] and several films have been shot there such as : Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Jewel of the Nile (1985) , Jesus of Nazareth (1977) , The Living Daylights (1987) , The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) , The Sheltering Sky (1990) , Kundun (1997) , The Mummy (1999) , Gladiator (2000) , Alexander (2004) ...

ZAGORA in 1 day : One day excursion to Zagora in teh desert. First enjoy the charming route along the Draa river. Lunch in Zagora. Visit the old bookstore in tamgroute, the dunes of Tinfou and also the Amezrou Jewish quarter. back to Ouarzazate.

SKOURA VALLEY in 1 day : The skoura valley is situated at around 40 km far from Ouarzate, on the route of the thousand kasbahs. Some of the best kasbahs there are Amerdil and Ait Abou where we will have a cup of tea with locals.

TODRA GORGES in a half-day : Depart from Tinghir, using the dades valley and the route of the thousand kasbahs. Arrive to Tinghir for the palmgrove sightseeing and lunch. In the afternoon, get into the gorges of Todra and enjoy some walking there. Then back to Ouarzazate.

MERZOUGA DUNES in 2 days : Depart from Ouarzazate using the route of teh thousand kasbahs, then cross Tinghir with a lunch in the gorges of Todra (some walking). After that drive to Erfoud then to Merzouga dunes at the erg chebbi. Start a camelride in Merzouga and admire teh sunset from the highest dunes. back to MErzouga to spend night in the auberge or stay in the oasis among the dunes for a bivouac overnight (nomad tents). The following day, Visit Rissani then route to Alnif, Tazarine oasis, Nkob, Agdz then to Ouarzazate. It is possible to have a second overnight in Zagora to make it a 3 days trip.

THE CITY OF MARRAKECH in 1 or two days : Depart from Ouarzazate to the Medina of Marrakech via Tizi n Tichka pass. Medina sightseeing including major monuments like : The Koutoubia mosque, The Menara gardens, Saadiens tombs, Bahia Palace, The Medersa, The Majorelle gardens etc - Lunch in a Moroccan restaurant in Marrakech. Continue sightseeing - Enjoy free time at the famous square of Jamaa El Fna and the surrounding souks. After that back to Ouarzazate. It is also a nice good idea to stay for one overnight in Marrakech (Hotel or Riad) in order to have enough time for sightseeings and restaurants.
